Deborah A. Whippen

Vice President and Principal Publications Manager

Deb has been at the forefront of medical publications and association management since 1985, when she began her career in the editorial office of The Journal of Clinical Investigation, before becoming the Managing Editor of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and subsequently the Senior Director and Executive Editor of the Publications Department at ASCO. She brings more than 40 years’ worth of expertise to every publication she helps develop and manage.

Deb is an enthusiastic user of new technology and routinely uses social media such as Twitter (@Editorial_ Rx) and Facebook to network within the health care, medical communication, and publishing communities. When she’s not playing with the latest electronic gadgets, Deb is needlepointing, a craft that has brought her bliss since she was a teenager. She’s a budding amateur filmmaker, earning two awards with her first entries in her community’s short film competition.
